MSA secures planning

for new hotel     

Michael Sparks Associates have been granted planning permission for a brand new 113-bedroom hotel on the North Circular at SEGRO Park, Newham. This is an industrial-led development with DPD already on site. Works are due for completion later this year as part of the East + portfolio for SEGRO and the Greater London Assembly.

100 years: votes for women

This week marks 100 years since the Representation of the People Act was passed, allowing women over 30 in the UK the essential right to vote.

Prospero, Ansty: Meggitt

Michael Sparks Associates are the architects and lead designers for the new 45,000 sq m (487,170 sq ft) manufacturing facility at Ansty, near Coventry, which has just been submitted to Rugby Borough Council for planning. The project includes a full fit-out, and is due to commence on site in September 2018. The project forms the first phase of a much wider masterplan (for which Michael Sparks Associates are also the master planners), that will create a major extension to Ansty Business Park.


Capacity, Dartford

Michael Sparks Associates have submitted a planning application to Dartford Borough Council for two buildings at Exton Estates’s Capacity development at Dartford.

One of the units has been designed around the requirements of a specific industrial occupier and will amount to 8,500 sq m floor area, whilst the other is a 7,000 sq m speculative unit. Both buildings are targeted to achieve a BREEAM “Excellent” rating.

This planning application follows on the successful completion of the Fedex/TNT mail distribution facility within the same development, which was also designed by Michael Sparks Associates and completed in October 2016.

Project Ant

Heads towards completion

The Michael Sparks Associates-designed multi-storey fulfilment centre for Amazon at Tilbury is heading towards an early completion at the end of August 2017. The centre will accommodate 204,820 sq m (2,204,680 sq ft) of floor space over four floors, with almost 10,139 sq m (109,135 sq ft) of offices and staff amenity space, and will incorporate ground breaking, high tech retrieval technology. The centre will be a major distribution point for London and is seen as amajor part of the regeneration of the Essex town, bringing thousands of new jobs to the community, and strengthening Tilbury as an important gateway to London.
