• Located just off the M6 motorway on the edge of the Haydock Industrial Estate, the site is allocated as Green Belt but due to the demand for modern employment premises within the North West, an application was submitted to develop the site ahead of adoption of the new Local Plan.
• The application required extensive research into the supply of employment land within St Helens as well as the occupational demand for new floorspace that met modern occupational requirements.
• A further extension to the supply of employment land is also being promoted through the Local Plan review process and representations have been made for the inclusion of this land as employment allocations to both the Liverpool City Region and the Local Planning Authority.
