Michael Sparks Associates were the architects for a new 28,100 sq m (224,000 sq ft) distribution facility for Dixons Mastercare at Hounsdown, near Southampton. The project, which was developed by Boltbay Limited, was constructed on a fast-track programme with Trant Construction Ltd. as main contractor, and was completed in August 2002. Michael Sparks Associates had to overcome complex logistical and fire engineering problems to create what has become a striking and successful development.
