Heathrow
Michael Sparks Associates were the architects and master planners for a prestigious 11 hectare (27.5 acre) distribution and industrial park at Heathrow, West London. All the phases have now been completed. The first phase was a 15,330 sq m (165,000 sq ft) building which includes high specification offices of 2,787 sq m (30,000 sq ft), and is now occupied by British Airways. Michael Sparks Associates acted on their behalf for the fit-out of this unit, which involved the addition of a further 1,860 sq m (20,000 sq ft) of offices.
The second phase was completed in August 2000, and underwent a £40 million fit-out as a data centre for IX Guardian, for whom Michael Sparks Associates also acted as architects. The third and fourth phases were completed in December 2000, with the largest building of the park now let to Tycom.
