Michael Sparks Associates were the architects for a purpose built facility for Honda Logistics UK, the distribution and logistics arm of the Swindon-based car manufacturer.

The building contains 32,516 sq m (350,000 sq ft) of floor space which includes 1951 sq m (21,000 sq ft) of offices and amenity areas. These included a canteen, a fully equipped kitchen, shower and locker facilities and a full range of administrative accommodation. In addition Honda required a mezzanine space of 2,175 sq m (23,400 sq ft) within the warehouse, along with despatch offices and extensive plant areas. The warehouse is heated with gas fired ambient heaters, and the contract also included racking along with an area of strengthened slab to accommodate future racking. There are 32 dock levellers and four level access doors below two 15 metre deep canopies. The building is fully sprinklered.

This new unit for Honda Logistics UK was constructed on programme and on budget, to the satisfaction of the parties involved. It represents a complex, but sophisticated, state-of-the-art logistics facility.
